Anadhanam is an initiative of Valliappa Foundation, which is the social impact arm of the Sona Group. With over 100 years of experience, the origins of the group can be traced back to pre-Independence India. The Group was founded by Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Thiagaraja Chettiar, who was moved by the plight of tea garden workers in the country. He was inspired to empower his fellow countrymen and enhance India’s economic development. Since its inception in the 1920s, The Sona Group has pioneered India’s growth in the fields of agriculture, textiles, construction, IT, and education.
Anadhanam focuses on ensuring the authenticity of fundraisers through various measures. Recipients are notified each time a donation is made to their projects, while donors are kept up-to-date on the fundraiser's progress through the Anadhanam web portal. Funds raised undergo a detailed verification process, which includes collecting and verifying identification proofs and pictures. Only after this thorough verification process is completed, the funds are transferred to the respective fundraiser's organizations.
